Candice Huffine, the 40-year-old model, and her wife, Shelly Lynch-Sparks, are excited to announce they are expecting their first baby together. The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram on November 11, 2024. They posted beautiful photos of Lynch-Sparks showing her baby bump, taken in a field and on a beach.
“We are beyond thrilled and feel so lucky to be welcoming our sweet baby girl into a family and community who supports and loves her so much already,” Huffine shared in the caption. She added, “Let’s go girls! 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷”

The couple, who got married in October 2023, is thrilled to start this new chapter in their lives. They tied the knot in Las Vegas and celebrated by attending an Adele concert. Huffine reflected on their quick decision to marry, saying, “We instantly knew we were in love and going to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Just over a year after their wedding, Huffine and Lynch-Sparks are expecting their first child—a baby girl.

However, this exciting time is mixed with uncertainty. The couple is worried about the future with a new government that threatens LGBTQ+ rights and women’s reproductive rights. Huffine expressed her concerns, saying, “We are bringing a little girl into this world, and I want the best for all of us.”
Despite these challenges, they find strength in their community. "A lot of people have reached out to us to say, 'I love you. I’m here for you,'" Lynch-Sparks said. "We’re going to rally around each other and support each other," Huffine added.

The couple's journey to parenthood began three years ago when Lynch-Sparks expressed her desire for children. Huffine, who was initially unsure, later agreed to start a family together. They went through the IVF process, freezing their eggs and creating embryos. In a fun twist, both women made presentations to choose their sperm donors, calling it “like Hinge, but way more high-stakes.”
They decided that Lynch-Sparks would carry Huffine’s embryo. The IVF journey, though challenging, brought them closer, and they were grateful for the support they received from friends who had gone through similar experiences.

With a due date in January 2025, the couple is looking forward to welcoming their daughter. Huffine said, “This is a plan we wanted for our future, and there’s a lot of work that goes into it.” Despite the uncertainties, they are proud to share their joy. "We have to celebrate," Lynch-Sparks said. Huffine added, “We’re not hiding, no matter what the country plans to do.”
Their first plan? A big gay celebration for their baby shower, complete with drag queens, music, and fun.
Congrats to Candice Huffine and Shelly Lynch-Sparks on the exciting news of expecting their first baby!
